Station Centralen is one of three new stations being built as part of the Västlänken railway project in Gothenburg. Keep®safe system has been used in all glazed wall sections and doors serving the platforms and underground entrances. The project comprises around 1,000 units and is one of Keep’s largest to date.

NCC, which is building the central section of the station on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration, needed a solution that could meet the project’s demanding security requirements. The glazing and doors had to withstand high pressure loads while allowing for large areas of glass and an open station environment. Following detailed calculations, Keep®safe system proved to be the only solution that met the requirements.

Each element was designed to suit its location within the station. The system is integrated into the structure, allowing the required level of security to be achieved without compromising the architecture. The units were manufactured by SPINAB and installed in Gothenburg.

Delivery and installation are now complete. When Station Centralen opens, the glazed sections will be part of the new environment welcoming passengers to the station.
